About GlueMotor

Sorry for huge (years of) delay, but finally I have published the GlueMotor source code (Android, iOS and JavaScript) in GitHub:

What is a "GlueMotor"?

GlueMotor is a simple technique to control multiple servo motors via a headphone jack.

What's the difference between this technique and the others?

  • Not required any electronic components (just wires!)
  • Easy to build (just wires!)
  • Inexpensive (just wires!)

Make: magazine has an article about GlueMotor!  Please check the web version at Make: Vol.34, page 84-87.

Currently, there are two types of "GlueMotor":
  • "Stand Alone GlueMotor"
A hobby servo motor which has built-in battery and stereo cable.
  • "GlueMotor Cable"
A set of stereo cable, battery folder and servo cables and you can connect ANY standard hobby servo motors.
  • Here is a demo video of GlueMotor!: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HsD5qrbRkVc

What things I can do with "GlueMotor"?

GlueMotor is a general purpose hobby servo motor. You can control absolute angle of the servo (normally -45 ~ +45 degrees) from your Smart Phone or Tablet devices.
If your device supports stereo output (most likely!), you can control up to TWO GlueMotors at a same time!

I want one! Where can I get "GlueMotor"?

At this moment, only way you can get it is "making your own" :-)
Please refer to "How to make" page if you are interested in making one by yourself.

Where can I download "GlueMotor" app?

Yes! "GlueMotor" application is available for download from:
